`Hey everyone it is fire, I am sorry that I was late (I'm not pregnant!) but we've had some trouble on the new world but more on that later.
The world
The new world is being worked on around the clock by the Mainecraft staff. The layout is MUCH different than the old world. It is completely fresh and well....clean as a baby's......teeth. (what were you thinking you pervert!) I am unable to inclose pictures do to that trouble I mentioned earlier. Basically everything was coming along nicely, we had many of the spawn buildings finished and a few of the cities were developing, until SOMEONE decided we need a railroad (not saying names...) and well, it worked GREAT. It connected Spawntown to the other outlying cities. There was a major design flaw which ruined it. What happened if there were more that a couple carts at the same time? Well apearantly they get stuck together and go underground. Another major problem we had still was the XP orbs, appearantly if you die, all you exp is dropped, with major lag issues. This then causes a 0 Frames per Second zone with a 300+ block radius. We have manged to fix the problem (mainly me) and everythnig is running smoothly.
Layout
So well as you should know, there will be a spawn town with only V.I.P houses. This town will be owner by xsomersx. Each moderator or Administrator will have their own city/town/village a fair distance away from spawn. Few cities have been made and planned out, but what we know about them,
Spawntown, A large place with the neccessities to get off to a good start. Owned by Somers
Mandorin- Forest based town owned by Raging3k
Cliffside- Mountain based town owned by Firestarian (THATS ME!)
FAQ
Q WHEN CAN I GET ON THE SERVER!?!?!?!
A We are currently working our hardest to get it prepared, plus we need canarymod and others to update.
Q Are there any moderator positions?
A Not currently but likely in the near-future.
Q How will plots be settled?
A AHH well you see, when we let loose the floodgates (open the server) You will have to speak to the owner of that town or his staff and choose/buy a plot (each town varies)
Q How much do Plots cost?

Q Will our nugs be carried over?
A I honestly have no idea
Q Do I need 1.8?
A yes, obviously.
Q Can I get on the server and help?
A No sorry that gives you an unfair advantage

S- I am 20 years of age
F- What inspired you to start Mainecraft?
S Well t0crea8ive actuallly hosted the original Mainecraft at his house just for friends but we decided to make it public.
F- Why isn't he the owner then?
S- Well quite frankly I pay the bills and run the server, he sits there and builds
F- So what do you do for a living?
S- Well I am a full time college student and do laundry for the hospital as a part-time job.
F- Wow that certainly is a busy schedule, how do you still have time for the server?
S- My hours have been rough lately and I haven't had as much time for the server, a special shout out to the staff who keep everything in order, Raging3k Silence12, Tangtom and Firestarian. My schedule has been seemingly random lately, some days I can be on for a few hours, sometimes I can't be on for a week, its rough.
F- So what plans do you have in store for Mainecraft
S- I am continuously trying to improve it, T0crea8ive is learning java in college classes which will help.
F- Does that mean custom plugins?
S- I don’t want to give too much away but, keep you eyes open

Mainecraft update 9/7/11
Hey everyone, it’s Firestarian, bringing you the good word of the MaineCraft team. This will be a new weekly tradition, this one will be a bit awkward, I will explain how the newsletter is going to work, and this will come out on an odd day but after this one each newsletter will come out each Monday.
What's going to happen?
1.8 The Rundown
So if you haven’t heard, we are starting fresh with a new world! This means that the old world will become obsolete. With many of the incompatibilities of survival mode and all of it's juicy spoils. But frown not, We have decided to put the old world up for download, but please remember to give credit ok? I will provide a link next week. Basically, for a few days after 1.8 is released, MaineCraft will likely be down, but fear not crafters. We mods and admins and going to work around the clock to get it up. We will be preparing the world (more below) The main issue is that MaineCraft runs on canary mod, which enable other plug-ins to work and like EVERY other mod/plugin out there, it needs time for the owners to update. So while we wait for canary mod, the server will be closed. So all of our plugins (acidsticks, locking chests, commands) all of those will not work, and they will take various time to update to be compatible 1.8. So for a short time after the release, MaineCraft will be down. For awhile after MaineCraft opens it's doors again, we will have a few plugins that we don't normally have. We are going to try to fix this as soon as possible.
A whole new world....
We are still trying to work out the details of this but we have a general run-down of the world. There will be a capital city, where you spawn and where you journey will begin. This city will be huge and the owner of the city is the 5xstunner (xsomersx). Also, each moderator will have their own city a fair difference from the spawn city (1000+ blocks). They will be in charge of their city and it's tenants. The point of this program is to discourage random seemingly random homes. One of the largest problems with out current world is that it is very unorganized, and pretty random (nothing wrong with that :P).
So this new world will be much more organized but don't worry. You can still build out in the wilderness BUT it is open to griefers and thieves. The server is going to take a darker approach, focusing on survival and building equally. Buildings inside cities are protected and griefers will be banned promptly. (did anyone get the Aladdin reference?)
Get Involved
Now is the time to have your ideas heard and be a role in the creation of the server. Since we are starting from scratch and most of our plugins won’t work, we are open to ideas for new plugins., new concepts, new layouts. This is YOUR chance to get involved and do something. Leave all of your grand ideas in the comments here.
Newsletter layouts
Since this is the first newsletter it’s layout will be sorta funky but below is how most of them will look.
A. Introduction
Most of the time this will simply be me telling you the general idea and maybe some really important out of context news, such as me explaining why a letter was late.
B. main article
This will be the main point the newsletter, the big story. There won’t always be a main article but when there is server news, it will be found here.
C Featured projects/buildings
If someone on the server made something really cool but few people know about it, I will provide some screenshots and maybe some background information. If you have a cool project you want to show, drop a comment on the forums.
D Featured MaineCrafter
Each week I will interview one player and ask about their projects. This will often go hand-to-hand with the featured project. Please don’t ask to be featured, you WILL be ignored
E Other articles
If there is any other special news I will definitely cover it.
F Special contest/event
If there is a special contest I run or an event, I will post it here, but please keep in mind. THERE WILL NOT ALWAYS BE ONE!

So hey everyone, how’s it going? This might be a little on the lower quality because we need to get this one out earlier than usual.
Farewell MaineCraft
Let me just start off by saying, MaineCraft is like no other server. While it may be simple in plugins and landscape and buildings. Those do not matter. It’s the people. I remember the day I joined back in June and let me just say, I've never felt so welcome. I’ve tried other server before and I just felt like another wave in the endless sea. Another person on a populated server. But here, I feel like myself, I don’t have to act all formal when a moderator or admin got on, I can act like myself. And that there, is the reason I’ve stayed. I received an amazing welcome from the owner and Raging. I felt like my own individual.
Everything about MaineCraft was unique, the people, the world, the rules. The land wasn’t stiff like other servers. I didn’t have to buy a plot that was 5X6, I could build wherever the hell I pleased. I didn’t have to talk in character, and the world is so unique. I can walk down a street and see a house, then a store than a rollercoaster, it’s the randomness which makes it whole.
I’ve met some amazing people on MaineCraft, Raging who welcomed me the most, who is a loyal friend who I can trust not to screw anything up. Tangtom who I haven’t know very long but feel like I've known him for years. Silence, who is like that creepy uncle who scares your friends but is actually a really cool guy. And Somers, who is the most awesome owner ever, he doesn’t hold himself up like he is a god, he seems like a normal down to earth guy. There are many others who I've grown close too but I can’t list them all off. But let me just say, MaineCraft is unlike any other, it’s full of normal people who just want to have fun. The fact that the world is ending almost brought tears to my eyes. I’ve grown so accustomed to the world, that nearly every square brings back a fond memory. But I for one raise my glass. I put the past behind me and look to the future and am hopeful for the future. HUZZAH!

EVENTS
Remember the server by joining the tour, we are all going to go on a huge tour to view the world. Friday the 9th we are going to go on a server wide trip and view the world one last time, before we start fresh. We will start in spawn town and end up in old town and have a festival. Meet at the spawn building /spawn at 9:00 P.M. central time. Free timezone converter here

Another important thing to know is that the world files have corrupted and we have loaded a backup from a month ago. We all apologize for the inconvenience but for the few days we have remaining, it isn’t a huge deal. But the world is now backed up once a day.
